Customers praised this mutton tallow soap for exceptional slickness, cushion, and post-shave feel, calling it "luxurious" and "the slickest soap ever." The scent is polarizing - heavy on citronella and lemon, which some loved as "fresh and invigorating" while others found overpowering. Most recommend trying a sample first due to the strong fragrance.

When I was looking at soaps this one kind of had a warning to try the sample first. So I did. I really like it. Something different and might not be for everyone. I will be getting the full size. But try the sample if you want something different.
I find the scent fresh and invigorating, and the mutton base is hard to beat.
It smells very strongly of citronella, and the sharp scent lingers. I'm glad I only bought the sample puck. It does however make for an excellent lather. I also bought the unscented Sheep sample, which I will give a 5 star review. But this one stinks. I'll probably give it away. So it goes.
Excellent slickness and cushion. Invigorating scent.
If you like arko, you'll love electric sheep! My current favorite from stirling!!
Horrible smell. Smells just like lemon urinal bars. Works fantastic as do all of your shave soaps.
I have a puck of this soap and love it. Very Unique! I think that's why I like it. I think because of it's slickness it could also make a nice pre-shave. In any event I get a crazy amount of lemon and love it.
This sheep tallow soap performs exceptionally well, providing excellent lather, glide and face feel. The only negative for me is that the scent didn't match my expectation based on the description. I don't dislike the scent and will continue to use the soap, but the citronella was a bit overpowering for me, just a matter of personal preference. The soap still performs like a champ.
Tried a sample puck and it has a great scent and the luxurious lather and quality of all Stirling soaps , it's definitely another winner. Will be ordering more and in a larger quantity.
There wasn't anything bad about the lather and it wasn't a totally unpleasant smell, but the citronella overpowered it to the point all I could think about were those candles you have to keep mosquitos away.
Mutton tallow is the difference of this soap. The scent is great I will definitely buy full size.
Great lather and the is so smooth that the razor glides right over for a close shave. Honestly, i can not remember a better shave. The scent is my favorite of the ones I've tried.
I bought a couple of pucks because I liked the sample I received after buying a shave brush several months ago. I loved the strong scent and amazing cooling effect. Unfortunately what I purchased had maybe a tenth the strength of the magnificent sample. There was zero cooling effect at all. Disappointing.
Hi David, it looks like you ordered the wrong soap. The sample you received in your previous order was for Glacial Electric Sheep. This time you ordered regular Electric Sheep, which contains no menthol and has no cooling effect.
Really only needs one word to rate this: Wow!! The scent. The lather. The feel. The shave. As close to a shave cream you will get in a soap, that’s how luxurious this lathers up! Incredible! In the top 2 soaps I have ever tried and I’ve tried a lot. I have to compare it now to what used to be number 1 and see if I have a new king of the hill! Thank you Rod and Stirling people :)
The lather was luxuriously thick and cushiony. The scent was refreshing and clean. It left my face feeling clean and moisturized, I love mutton tallow-based soaps. It is wonderful soap, but I guess I was expecting a bit more sensation out of it from the warnings on the description, thus only 4 stars. Please don't get me wrong I have never had a bad soap or product from Stirling, only top-rated products. I guess next time I'll try Glacial Electric sheep soap.
Best mutton tallow soap Stirling makes. I have the soap, witch hazel, and balm. All are wonderful. In my top 5 for sure!
I live in a hot dry desert area with intense sunlight. Your face tends to dry out and become chapped.
I received a sample of this soap and tried it. It leaves your face soft, clean and smooth. It lathers very well and has a lemony aroma.
Great lather, and great scent-Strong, bold, and lasting.
I like it, wife does not. If you make stirfry and toss in lemongrass and FRESH ginger root, I think it smells like this. The smell of fresh ginger gives it that electric hit.
Awesome scent! Creates a great lather for shaving. One of the smoothest soaps I’ve used.
Product performs well. The citronella is a little too much for me. I wonder if it will work as mosquito repellent as well.
If you want a ultimate cooling sensation I would definitely recommend this one.
I was a little hesitant about buying this at first since it contains citronella, however it is well balanced by the lemon and the citronella is more of a background note. I enjoyed the scent of this however I did find a lemon scent a little strange for shaving. That said, the aroma is not overpowering and the soap is super smooth for shaving.
I wanted to try this out and wow it blew me out of the water. The smell is different and yes indeed has that insect repellent smell.. but it smells good. Weird, but I liked it.
As noted, this is the first mutton tallow soap I've tried. I've been used to the beef tallow soaps and didn't realize that the mutton tallow soaps required a little more effort in Lathering. The first time I used this, I had some issues with it leaving a sticky post-shave feeling, but realized that when I used the Stirling Pre-Shave oil, I used too much, which led to the sticky, post-shave feeling. I retried this Soap using the pre-shave oil sparingly and experienced great result during the shave, as well as the post-shave feel. If using any of the pre-shave oils, use it sparingly and you should have no problems!
Love the Electric Sheep. Hydrates perfectly, very slick, nice cushion, and has a great scent and feel. Very nice.
It reminds me of those tiki candle polls you put around the yard for a party in the summer... so citronella forward with some bug spray (but not necessarily in a bad way if that makes sense). It's not a daily driver, but fun to pull out every once in a while... I always end up reminiscing about family reunions and backyard barbecues when I use it.
Like every Stirling soap I've used, Electric Sheep is an amazing performer, punching waaay above its weight class once properly hydrated. The scent is unlike anything else I have experienced. I would heed the caveat of getting a sample first. Off the sample-puck I got, the scent was pretty powerful. Heavy on the lemon to my nose with the citronella coming in fast behind it. Eucalyptus was there but it was more subtle, just enough to balance out the high-notes of lemon. In short, it's a potent combination. Once lathered everything mellowed out and "harmonized" nicely. I like the scent, even if I don't love it, and I can certainly see how it would not appeal to everyone. Giving this soap five-stars because it performs so well: cushion, glide, residual slickness? Yeah, it's all there. Scent is a matter of personal preference, and I definitely got what I asked for, so I'm not going to dock Electric Sheep a star simply because there are scents I like better.
I've had this soap for a few month's now in order to give it a fair trial.
I was gob-smacked on the first use. I wasn't hip to the scent when I opened it, was more like...eh. Then I began to lather it and it exploded into something wonderful and exciting!
The shave was outright phenomenal ! And just when I thought this soap couldn't get any better....the post shave feeling of my skin for hour's later was unrealistic! So soft, so smooth, my skin felt radiant!
Then, I decided excitedly to shave with this before my girlfriend came over, like all women 🙄 she was late lol. However when she stepped in for a kiss, she pulled back and immediately questioned what was that scent ??!! She absolutely loved it !
As all Stirling soaps do, it lathers uncomparably to any others. Thick, rich, super slick and super creamy. I have the 5.8 oz jar and this is one that I will maintain in my den at all times
This soap is amazing. Yes it does have a strong citronella scent, but after you lather it up the lemon comes through to really freshen it up. Highly recommend.
I liked the lid so I jumped in with both feet. Like all the Stirling soaps I've tried they are outstanding in slickness and cushion. I was afraid that I was going to be a walking Citronella candle but I find the scent not that over powering. I like it.
