This is an excellent bath soap!! , a very pleasant scent and the menthol level while high is just right ,it leaves your skin feeling great. I will definitely buy more.

Great anise smell with mental. This smell just like black jellybeans. In the shower the soap smells great and is invigorating . When you step out of the shower the menthol kicks in and you feel cool and refreshed. The plus I did was work up soap lather on my hands and put this on my face prior to shaving. This gives the menthol refreshment feeling. I see this does come as shaving soap so I will be ordering it. I wish there was the shaving balm ; it would be super.

Glacial obsidian is my first stirling soap with menthol. I saw in one of the other reviews that it smells of strong black licorice; it sounded interesting so I decided to try it.

It is great! And the smell of black licorice is dead on. Interestingly enough, the lingering scent is something slightly different, more masculine than black licorice.. Anise is very close to licorice and fennel according to the internet, and I'd say the after smell is much like licorice minus the sweetness with an earthiness added.

I very much enjoyed this soap! I didn't give it 5 stars as I might not purchase it again: this is mostly because I am eager to try other soaps.

My New favorite !! I've tried several different Stirling bath soaps but, this one is THE BEST by far. The cooling effect really hits you like the breath of a million peppermint fairies blowing kisses all over your body while u dry off!! love it

This soap has that awesome black licorice scent with the same super-cold menthol freeze that the shaving soap version has, and does it ever protect the skin against dryness. Showering with it is like showering with a block of intensely-mentholated moisturizer. Every product of Rod's which I have - whether it's for shaving and showering is A-1, Top-Of-The-Line!
