Customers praised this shaving soap for its excellent lather, slickness, and cushion, producing smooth shaves with great post-shave feel. The scent received mixed feedback: most loved the "fresh and clean," "masculine" fragrance with sandalwood notes, calling it "complex" and long-lasting. However, some found it overpowering or not to their taste.

I got a sample - and that was enough.
The lather was good, but the scent wasn't.
Some people may like this, but my wife and I didn't.
The smell lasted a long time, and was hard to get rid of.
If you like this scent, enjoy it.
I sure didn't
Bought Ramblin Man after an internet search about shaving cremes. Small company, good website, good product description - decided I would give them a try.. Great fragrance, great lather, excellent product. Would definitely buy again.
This is the first soap and aftershave from Stirling I’ve tried and I’m very impressed. Easy to lather up, and the lather produces such a wonderful quality of slickness, cushion and glide. What’s more is how nice my skin feels post-shave. The fragrance is pretty killer too! I have way too many soaps from great makers which I’ll never use up in this lifetime, but I will no doubt be ordering more from this maker. Really nice!
Fresh and clean. Really nice scent. I will be getting a full size. But the sample was perfect to try and get a real feel for the scent.
Great scent. Great product. Great company. Try it.
This is a great scent that I think any guy would love to have in their arsenal of shave soaps
Amazing scent profile. I can't really describe it. Its very fresh and clean. One of my favorites 👏
Using the same shaving soap for a number of years I finally wanted to switch products. I did my research and found Stirling. Looked into the smells and chose this one to go with the soap. Lather is great has a smooth feel when I’m using either my safety razor or my straight razor. Awesome lather and amazing smell.
It smelled like a strong soap when getting out of the shower. Performance was great. But it was just a sudsy smell for me that didn't really fit the description.
Took a chance and bought the shave soap, I’m very pleased with the product! I believe it is much better shave soap than all the others that I’ve used over the years! I have also purchased after shave, and bath soap and I’m very pleased with the quality!
Stirling has a new customer!
The performance of this soap really helped me with razor burn and irritation. This shave soap is of the highest quality in my experience!!
You can never go wrong with Stirling products! Rambling Man is a great scent and the slickness is superb as always.
I was in a shop today that had 30 or more artisan brands. Most of them had a base scent that carried across all their offerings. This (and other) Stirling scents stood out as unique. I tried it as soon as I got home and I'm hooked.
This is one of the shave soaps from Stirling that I've had for quite a while. But I am always happy to "get back to it".It;s getting close to the bottom. I love the "cologne-like" scent. Thank you Rod, Mandy, & Team Stirling!!
My wife likes the scent.
Great scent and longer lasting than most others. Better than executive man, but favorite by far is oro valley. I love all your products and I’m new to wet shaving. Keep up the great work.
I was expecting Dickie Betts at the Filmore East and I got a highfalutin Old Spice. Too cologny, overwhelming and it lingers forever.
If you want highfalutin Old Spice, then this is for you.
You already know how good the shave will be, but it's the scent that propelled Ramblin' Man to the top spot in my Stirling rotation.
1. Ramblin' Man
2. Stirling Gentleman
3. Campania
4. Arkadia
5. Margaritas in the Arctic
I found this shave soap to be another great scent with excellent slickness.
I have experienced numerous smooth shaves with Ramblin Man. It has a great post-shave feel.
I think this one is one of the better "man" scents. Smells like a cross between barbershop and sharp dressed man. Tiny bit powdery. I think I like this one more than Sharp dressed man.
This is one of my new favorites... I bought this as it said it had some sandalwood scent to it, but it is much more than that. It's hard to describe but it has a really pleasant scent that my wife loves.
Received a sample of Ramblin Man with a previous order. Smelled it and instantly bought the full jar and matching after shave. This is my favorite by far with its complex sandalwood smell. I have just about every sample and this is the one!! Absolutely love the smell of Ramblin Man. It’s sandalwood with extra!!
Okay so I absolutely love this one it reminds me of mountain man and since my girlfriend doesn't like the petigrain ingredient in Mountain Man I can't wear it. LOL
This one smells so nice and lasts. I'm not sure where people are saying that it's a light scent. I'd like to say it packs a great punch.
I love the new restriction on the splash!!!
A wonderful, refined clean scent perfect for year round use. Fresh out of the shower fancy hotel soap type clean with a little bit of a zing. Gonna be using this for a long time. Same incredible performance that can be expected with all stirling soaps, beast mode lather, unbeatable price. This is what it's all about
What a wonderful, fresh, clean, masculine scent. It's tempting to just leave the lid off and use it as a bathroom air freshener. The lather is, as one would expect, stellar. The shave experience is, as one would expect, top-notch. An absolute must-have.
I never thought that Stirling would make a scent that I liked more than Executive Man but they've done it with Ramblin' Man. Everyone should have this soap in their collection.
My first soap from Stirling was Stirling Clubman. A wonderful version of Pinaud. Not the same, but with very similar qualities. When Sterling Clubman went out of production, I was very disappointed. I tried many, many other great soaps (all Stirling's, of course)but they just could not replace Clubman. You always remember your "first".
Well, my search is over. Ramblin' Man is a wonderful subtle fragrance more in line with Clubman and Babershop than with the "Polo" like scents. Refreshing and clean like a new fallen snow on Mount Everest.
Just when I thought I had figured out my top 3 Stirling scents, they came out with Ramblin Man. A scent you really have to smell to believe. It's clean, manly, fresh, classic yet modern. I feel like this scent would be a cousin of Sharp Dressed Man. While Sharp is more on the "green, earthy" type of fresh, Ramblin is more on the "bright, citrusy" side of it. Absolutely incredible.
If you want to smell great, buy the soap, aftershave and cologne. You'll thank me later.
This is a typical Stirling performer...great! The scent is just plain simple manly scent that keeps you wanting to come back for more. The matching splash is spot on to the soap.
Smells like you just got out of the bath or shower and are very comfortable. Very clean and relaxing scent to me.
Lathers and shaves just like all the other scents I have tried--wonderfully!
As Chuck commented below (May 14, 2019), ALWAYS lather up and wait a while before deciding whether or not you like a soap. Stirling Gentleman is in my top 3, and I HATED it when I smelled it straight from the puck. Ramblin' Man is much akin to my Gentleman experience.
When I first smelled Ramblin' Man off the puck, I thought, "Great! I'm shaving with Irish Spring soap." To me it smelled just like it. Same with the Missus; she said, "Pass!" Now I harbor no hate against Irish Spring, per se, but I like the idea of my shave soaps helping me stand out--Irish Spring does not do this for me. The Missus, on the other hand, is not a fan of Irish Spring soap... at all.
But I know from past experience how scents transform after lathering up, so I gave this a whirl, and I really like how the scent transforms into its true self. The sandalwood and musk step up a bit (and probably the ambergris, except that other than knowing whales throw it up, I don't know anything about it), and really start to mellow and round this scent out.
The true test: I had the Missus give it a whiff half an hour after shaving, and she asked, "Wait, which one is this?" I told her it was Ramblin' Man, and she didn't believe me.
This scent does stay with you throughout the day, which is a great thing because I'm really enjoying it now.
