Been shaving my balls with this razor for a decade. Does the job better than any trimmer when you have a decently fresh blade in it.
Extremely well made and machined. I plan to use this thing forever!
This is my third Stirling razor. They are very well made, especially the stainless steel handle. Great value
Great razor. Gives a very close shave with no irritation. It also doesn't clog.
Doesn’t clog like other razors
I bought the open comb head with this handle, fits well in the hand and gives a nice close shave with the Astra Blue. Good feedback between razor and blade
, lets you know if you are using too much pressure and the open comb in my opinion lets the blade glide easier on my face. Another good product from Stirling and company.
The handle has the perfect contour to weight ratio for a premium shaving experience. I highly recommend this product. Nice that the handle is made in Fort Smith.
My first shave with the "aggressive" plate was very efficient and comfortable with an Astra Platinum Plus blade.
I switched back to safety razors after forty years with cartridges. The area between my upper lip and nose is very sensitive and I sometimes cheat with a cartridge razor for that area.
Not this time-I used the Stirling razor for the whole shave. I tend to overwork areas and pay the price, but Aqua Velva post shave produced only a minor burn. There were no cuts or weepers.
The razor head is very similar to an Edwin Jagger razor and the steel handle is made in USA and very distinctive in design.
I had a review from someone that used the razor for their head and they are definitely right! The razor is angled at just the right place. I got a smooth and effortless shave. I used the Astra blade and no irritation. For my head shavers out there, this razor is very effective!
The balance and quality of this razor is amazing ! It feels great to the touch and like any well made tool... does the work for you. This is not a plastic pharmacy razor, treat it with respect !
I do not have a lot of experience with different razor handles and razor heads, but this one with a standard head is fantastic for head shaving. I actually like the shorter handle and found that it fits my shaving style perfectly, which is to hold the razor close to the head anyway. The (hefty) weight is ideal for me also and feels like just letting gravity dictate the pressure is in a perfect spot to get silky smooth shaves without irritation. Definitely outperforms my Viking Chieftain and Viking Odin razors.
This is the second handle and 3rd head that I've ordered and I like it a lot. I ordered this handle with the open comb because I had yet to try and open comb and why not let Stirling be the company to supply that need. So...this is a wonderful looking handle that actually fits my hand and grip quite nicely, my fingers rest in the valleys like it was custom made for my medium size hands. The open comb is maybe a 5/10 on aggressiveness and that's pretty good for my 1st open comb. Used an Astra Platinum as my go to for any new razor. The head paired with this handle makes for a very attractive razor with the style and functionality that I would expect. This one's definitely a keeper, and a a great price too! Don't be intimidated by the open comb, it's not that scary, actually shaves quite nice! Well done!
The shape and knurling on the handle encourages a "soft" light grip. It's easy to hold. This is one of the keys to a "good" shave. As far as aggressiveness, I'd place the standard head half way between the Merkur 34c and the Muhle r41, making it moderately aggressive. The plating on the head is of good quality. The handle is stainless steel. It will last a lifetime. For $20, this razor can't be beat.
OMG I just stepped up my shaving game. This razor rocks!! Along with the starter set I got from Stirling, I just had the best shave ever. My face feels amazing!! You guys rock! Keep up the good work.
I picked up this handle as well as a long handle and an aggressive and standard plated head. The handles are exceptional quality and I like the heft and the knurling. This one in particular is super easy to hold on to. While I consider both heads to be very aggressive they deliver an excellent shave. You can audibly hear the beard cutting which let's you know the angle is perfect for chopping down beard hair! The key for new shavers is to prep the face well, use a preshave oil if you like, a good slick lather and most of all go SLOW with NO PRESSURE on the razor. Let it do the work as it was designed to do! I would definitely recommend this product. It is a plus that the handles are locally made as well and the price is very affordable for the quality. Happy shaves!
Absolutely gorgeous handle! Please read the razor head reviews. This is a very aggressive razor. The head was even and razor is hefty. (Standard) Unfortunately I bought this for a friend as a starter and he tore his face up. Now I have to buy him a new head from somewhere else. He loved the soap though! I would not recommend this for a beginner or someone with sensitive skin.
