**Please Note: This batch of brushes have less wavy hairs than previous batches. While there are the same number of hairs, this makes the brush feel less dense. They are still very close to previous batches but we have put these on sale as they are not the same as before.

Customers praised this synthetic brush for "super soft tips" with "great backbone," creating excellent lather. The ergonomic handle is "comfortable" and "easy to grip." Most love it as their favorite brush. However, one customer noted inconsistent density affecting backbone, and another found the handle slippery when wet.

I'm extremely happy with this brush!

I'm new to wet shaving. This is the second brush I've tried. And it is way better than the first one. Handles very comfortable, makes a great lather, feels good on the face. Zero shedding. I want to try a badger brush at some point but this is a great purchase!

Love this brush!

Probably my current favorite brush. Great backbone and makes a perfect face lather!

I am disappointed in the amount of synthetic fibers in the knot. I’ve purchased the same brush model in the past in both black and green 2 band and they are considerably more dense. As a result of less bristles, there is much less backbone in this brush. I was looking forward to this brush becoming a new favorite but have decided not to put it into my rotation.

Amazing Brush

A little on the soft side, but so comfortable. Takes just a little longer to load for face lathering. I have not seen one bristle shed out from it. The size is perfect. It will hold more than enough lather for 3 passes. Rinses and dries quickly.

Great brush

I’ve been using this brush for a while now. I just got into safety razors this year. This brush has had no issues. I tried to go cheap and got a brush on Amazon but bristles didn’t feel high quality and bristles fell out. This brush feels quality built, feels good in your hand, and after cleaning and drying the bristles bounce back to their original position. I wanted to give it a good run before reviewing. I bought in March and now it’s September and it’s in just as good of condition as when I bought it. I am very pleased with the quality of it.

Haven't had to look for another

I've been using this brush for nearly 2 years when I first started wet shaving and I've had absolutely ZERO complaints. It hasn't lost bristles, it's soft, it lathers well, idk what else to say except that it works wonderfully and just as good as the day it arrived. It's nicely made and won't fall apart on you either which is a relief.

Excellent brush

This is my first shaving brush and I find it very easy to use. The bristles are soft and it is very easy to clean off and dry. It makes for a very pleasant lathering experience, and for the price it cannot be beat.

Outstanding

This brush is fantastic. In comparison to the Simpsons Trafalgar T3,what many consider to be the best synthetic brush out there,This 2 band brush is JUST as good and actually has a bit more loft or "bristel length." All of this for under half the price of the Simpsons Trafalgar T3. You absolutely can't go wrong.

Bought as a gift but quality feels great!

A true workhorse!

Excellent Tuxedo brush! You can’t beat the golden ratio of quality and price. Just enough backbone, great controlled splay without being floppy, and very soft hair.

My favorite brush

This brush is the perfect size and softness. I don’t like a big brush. This little guy is amazing for the price. Highly recommended

Perfect

Have used this a lot for 4 months. Great handle and weight. My second favorite synthetic. No problem splaying for me.

Loads Like a Champ

Got this for my 2nd oldest son, and since it's up to me to show him how to use it, I pulled it from the box, and took it for a spin.

The first thing I noticed is that there is considerably more backbone in this brush than the "Kong" that I use. That's neither good or bad... just different. It loaded pretty darned fast, and created a LOT of lather. I was impressed.

And then there's the aesthetics. That black and white handle combined with the dark bristles is just so classy. I'm a one-brush man, and I don't see a scenario wherein I'll be giving my current brush up anytime soon, but I will admit to the slightest sense of brush envy after taking this out for a test drive.

I think my boy will be pleased come Christmas morning.

Great handle, bad knot

The handle on this brush gets a 5/5, it is a great shape very easy to grip and nice length.

The tuxedo knot, however, is not good at splaying and has a lot of friction to the bristles. This makes it harder to lather and harder to apply than a Plisson synthetic knot. I recommend the other Stirling synthetics that are of the Plisson/Plissoft type. Unfortunate that they don't offer this handle with the Plisson knot.

My first synthetic brush

A recent Mantic59 post spoke of the quality of the latest generation of synthetic brushes so while placing an order for soap on the Sterling site, thought I’d give one a try and ordered a 2-band 24mm x 56mm. For a $14 brush, it’s very high quality and well made.
With my boar and badger brushes, I’ll let them soak in hot water while showering, give them a few shakes, load the brush and build a nice face lather. It took a full week of experimenting to find the best method for the synthetics; a quick dip in hot water (they don’t absorb water like natural bristles so no need to soak), squeeze the base of the bristles to remove 2/3 of the water leaving most at the tips, load and lather as usual.
I’m finding this brush doesn’t build lather the same as my natural bristle. It builds ample lather for sure but it’s finer and more in the tip of the brush. Still getting ample lather for a great 3 pass shave. FYI, I used Sterling Sharp Dressed Man exclusively during my trials as it’s consistently great.
So, this brush is different than natural bristle to be sure but in a good way. A little variety is good.
I dropped a star because of how slick the handle gets when wet and soapy. I’m used to wood or lacquer handles. This plastic handle is like holding onto a greased pig! Will most likely hit it with some 600 grit sandpaper or 0000 steel wool if it doesn’t get better with use.
All in all, great brush, especially at this price point and looking forward to having it in my rotation.

Amazing

Just got this brush last week and have been able to use it for a few shaves. Have produced my best lathers with this. The brush is very soft but also has plenty of backbone. I really like the look of the handle and it fits great in the hand. Very pleased with the performance so far for such a great price.

Great product!

I bought two of these as Christmas gifts for friends I have been wanting to get into wet shaving. Received them today, I opened up one just two check it out... long story kind of short, I loved it, used it for my shave today and let’s just say, one friend is getting no love. Super soft, beautiful handle and great density. For the price, just buy it!

Purchase of second brush as a "back up"

My initial review of the first brush I purchased was based on quality and design. Having since used this brush in my shaving rotation, these brushes are everything I had hoped for and more. Happy to have the second brush for a back up and all I can say is ,"buy one or two you won't be sorry". You will find that it or( they) will bump some other brushes in your rotation.

Great Brush

Love the handle, very nice bristles. This synthetic knot is significantly better than the boar option with the same handle. A great value for one of my go-to brushes.

GREAT 24mm Tuxedo knot brush

I just received the black and white handle 24 mm Tuxedo knot brush that I ordered. I am soooo impressed with this brush that I am going to order another one as a back up. The handle is well shaped with proper heft and very attractive. I am sure it will perform as well as the other Tuxedo knot brushes in my collection. I seem to use the synthetic knot brushes in my collection mostly, despite the numerous badger brushes of all type that I own; including the "Manchurian high mountain white brushes" of notable manufacturer's name. Don't hesitate to buy this brush, you will be happy that you did!!!!

first synthetic

I have been wet shaving for many years and have a few badger and boar brushes that i enjoy, each for different reasons. Skeptical that i would like a synthetic I put off buying one for a few years. But not having to soak, ease of care, quick dry time, durability, etc.. interested me.
I'm glad i finally got one, especially this one. The handle is not only handsome, it's solid with a
nice weight and feels just perfect in the hand. The loft has plenty of backbone like a boar and the tips are very soft like a high end badger. It's a great combination. I face lather and found the brush -"bounce / spring" -took a bit of getting used to, but the lather develops quicker, fluffier, creamier and all around better than my other brushes. I must say i'm very impressed especially given the low cost. As usual the service from Stirling was superb. If you've never tried a synthetic and are interested / on the fence, this may be the brush for you.

stirling 2 band brush

This is another great brush from stirling, the Brush is dense but still manages to still be soft like a badger hair brush.

Best I’ve Ever Had

At this point it’s almost crazy how satisfied I am with everything I get from Stirling. I have several badger and boar brushes as well as 2 synthetic brushes from various other competitors websites.. this brush out performs every other brush I own by 150%. And at less than ⅓ the cost of the majority of the others. I have yet to be let down by a single thing I’ve purchased.
