The smells are amazing and the lather process is even better. Leaves a slick residue that helps worh shaving.

I’ve enjoyed the aftershave and wanted to try the shaving soap. I have not been disappointed. I get the same great shave that I get with all the other Sterling Shaving Soaps that I have in my collection.

I have tried several shave soaps from Stirling, and while I have been satisfied with all of them, I keep coming back to Vanilla Sandalwood. Why? It's simply the best. A warm, delicious, refreshing scent, and it lathers superbly. Plus, my wife loves it — or perhaps she loves the person who uses it. Hard to tell... 😊

Great Lather! smooth shave!

Smells wonderful and lathers perfectly. Its a little heavier in the vanilla scent than the sandalwood, which isn't what I was anticipating, but still smells really good.

Absolutley love this shave soap, i used to use a different brand that was sandalwood scented, they are no longer around, so i went shopping around. This company is named Stirling (mine is Sterling), got green packaging (my favorite color), and they have this vanilla sandalwood shave soap. I tried it and it will be my forever go to! I also got the shampoo bar, and bath bar in the same scents, and they are phenomenal. The later and shave quality of this soap is so good, and for a great price too! You cant beat these ingredients either.

Not a very strong scent of sandalwood. The vanilla and other various sweet scents are very much in the foreground. Despite wanting more of a sandalwood scent, I still love this soap for the colder seasons. You'll definitely get compliments.

This is the third time I have purchased Sterling shaving soap. They have all been excellent products. Their balance of fragrances is spot on, and the quality of the actual lather is second to none.

Liked it better than Haverford, similar scents.

Great scent, always wanted it, but you guys have too many great scents. Because of that, this one kept being put off. Finally, got it plus the aftershave.

This soap has a very nice fragrance to it . Not over powering at all but a very subtle aroma. As always with Stirling soaps , makes a great lather to help make your shave go smooth and easy . All of Stirling soaps perform extremely well and this one is no exception. I get the scent of both Sandalwood and Vanilla and it's a sweet smell that both wife and daughter enjoy and pure bliss when using.Will be one of my go-to!

We bake pound cakes at Christmas so for 3 days our kitchen smells like heaven. only real butter and vanilla imported from Mexico. This scent takes me there. I ordered the sample and fell in love with it so I got the shaving soap, balm and splash.

Like all Stirling soaps this one provides a very comfortable shave, but with a subtle fragrance to go with it. A very nice soap.

This is a classic smell and is one of the first shave soaps I bought from Stirling. Great lather. The large jars last at least 6 months. When making lather I get enough to shave twice with no shaving irritation.

A little Sweeter than I was expecting, but a really great scent overall.

I’ve been using a similar scent from another artisan for a while. But I like this one better. Sweet, but masculine scent. Super slick and protective. And the wife loves it. It’s now my new daily driver!

There are several shave soaps I have tried. Many are really good and produced commercially. They have a light scent and come in Bay Rum, Sandalwood, or Musk. Finding something that is original in scent that lasts throughout the day was very surprising and rewarding. As far as the product itself, it lathers up super well, very easily and has a slip to it that superior to the commercial brands. You can definitely tell that there is care and thought that went into a smaller batch you do not get in bands making 10's of thousands of bars per batch. I would say that there is no reason to ever change brands to anything other than Stirling.

I'm not the most sophisticated person when it comes to fragrances. I tend to like the more simple and straightforward scents which is exactly what this is to my nose. Lovely warm vanilla paired with a nice woody sandalwood. They compliment each other so nicely. I pair it with the aftershave splash and have a pleasant, low key fragrance that lasts most of the day.

Nice soft soap with a great scent. My sample didn't bowl lather like I expected because my new stirling synthetic brush soaked up the lather, but the face lather was outstanding! I never had to relather the brush and I did 3 passes with a touchup and STILL had a brush full of soap. The soap was right on as far as scent and strength, a medium moderate natural smell, not synthetic at all. I really want to try my other 4 samples but this is very very good. So glad I tried this company. Stirling is my new go to shave source now and most likely from now on!

I purchased a few different sample shave soaps to try out and this, so far, is the only one I have purchased a jar of. The initial scent has a good amount of vanilla, which is what I was hoping for, and a perfect amount of sandalwood to accompany it. After some use, it almost seems to resemble the smell of a rootbeer float which is just amazing. For me, this is a year round scent that I would be more than satisfied with if I was restricted to shaving with only one soap. I will be buying this and many others for the foreseeable future due to the fantastic performance, unbeatable price, and amazing customer service.

Two of my three favorite shave soap scents are not enjoyed by The Missus. Stirling Gentleman is one of them. I think it is warm, mellow, and absolutely wonderful. My better half, however, thinks it smells like "play-dough and dill." She makes me sad.

So, I have been trying to find a scent that gives me the "warm, mellow, and wonderful" vibe, but that doesn't manage to offend her tender sensibilities. That journey has been a lot more difficult than I would have predicted, and I must admit I was starting to feel a bit miffed.

That is, until I purchased a puck of Vanilla Sandalwood for my oldest son's Christmas stocking stuffer (I'm starting early this year). After transferring the soap to his shave stick, there was just a bit left over, so I thought I'd give it a try this morning--it was... warm, mellow, and wonderful!

And it is Missus approved. Granted, it's not Stirling Gentleman, but I still really enjoy this scent. One way or another, I can finally say I'm not angry anymore ;D

Vanilla sandalwood is an amazing scent. It has the sweetness of the Vanilla mixed with the manly smell of sandalwood. As with all Stirling soaps, the lather is incredible!
